A Permament Fixture

Megan made this bracelet with one of her best friends right before we moved. And she has barely taken if off since. It’s a sweet reminder to me of the power of friendship.

“Missing A Breath”

I just finished reading a new novel called The Outcast by Sadie Jones. Overall the book was interesting but it failed to fully capture my imagination. There were many thought provoking character studies and a few disturbing scenes (with similar dysfunctional qualities as in another recent read, The Thirteenth Tale).
There were a few [...]

Thirteen Years Ago

Kristen from We Are THAT Family hosts a Thursday carnival called Sincerely Fro’ Me To You. I enjoy Kristen’s blog if for no other reason than we share the same name and we both sported some serious ‘fros back in the day (one day when I’m brave enough I’ll dig out my pictures).

A Devoted Sister

We were walking home today from picking Megan up at school when Paul stopped and decided that he couldn’t walk any further. This is an old tactic that Paul uses when he wants to be carried. Staying Grounded - A Precautionary Tale

This has been on my mind a lot. My four year old son has recently decided that he does not like television characters whose skin color is different than his own. I have engaged him in several conversations explaining that God made people of all different skin colors and each person is equally [...]

Hidden Pictures Online

As soon as Highlights Magazine arrives in the mail, Megan and Paul flip to the Hidden Pictures page. Many an argument has been had over who gets to cross off the list of found objects and who gets to color the objects in the picture when they are found. Even more arguments have [...]

Unforgettable Memories of 2007

Is it too late for a reflective post? I hope not. I know I’m supposed to be making goals for 2008 but it would be remiss of me if I didn’t write one last post about 2007.
Gone are the days when Adam and I would hop into the car and drive aimlessly for [...]

Christmas Traditions

Our family has a few Christmastime traditions. Some are new and some are remnants of our own childhoods. Some are purposeful and some happened quite by accident.
The Christmas Tree
Thanks to Adam’s mom our tree is decorated in ornaments dating back 31 years to the beginning of Adam’s existence. One ornament for every [...]
