Padres Game

by Kristen McLane on August 3, 2009

On Sunday afternoon I experienced my first Padres game.  Megan and Paul received two tickets each as part of their summer reading program reward from the College-Rolando library branch.  (I never got rewards like that when I was a kid!)

The game itself wasn’t crazy exciting (the Padres lost) but we enjoyed some quality family togetherness.  What’s not to love about hanging at Petco Park on a lazy Sunday afternoon?

Petco is a great place to spend an afternoon. I love day games there. It’s a blast to see the little kids playing in the sandbox right next to the field and older kids playing baseball games of their own on the little league field. You guys should get the park-at-thepark tickets some time. For $5 you can bring a picnic and sit down on a blanket out on the hill. Nice view and a really relaxed atmosphere.

So good to hear from you! I’ve gotten so busy with my current volunteer commitments that I have no time for blogging (or reading blogs) anymore! This sounds like a great day at Petco (I learned something from what Paul said, too). Hope you guys are doing well!
