So far today has been a flurry of activity. I began my morning taking Stoney on a hike up Cowles Mountain. It’s only a 1.5 mile trail but the elevation changes nearly 950 feet. The 1,952 foot high summit offers a rewarding 360 degree view. It is well worth the trek. My first taste of Cowles Mt. was last Sunday afternoon when I decided on a whim to go exploring. I’d heard about the mountain, but I hadn’t found it yet. Turns out that it’s an easy 15 minute drive from my house.
After working up an appetite I returned home and made these good old fashioned pancakes for the family. It was just like the old days when we had “Pancake Saturdays” almost every weekend. When breakfast was over we all headed over to our new house. Technically our lease doesn’t begin until tomorrow but our landlord was happy to hand over the keys (funny how the exchange of money works like that). For the rest of the day we will be busy moving. The new house is only a half mile away so we are just loading up the back of our pick-up and driving stuff over. We haven’t decided if we are sleeping there tonight or not. I think we will be happy to move smaller things over today and furniture tomorrow (another friend with a truck is coming over to help after church). The biggest thing keeping us here is the cable (our precious Internet) but we have been told that the cable in the new house will be ready tomorrow. Woohoo.

Did I miss something? Are you not in Michigan anymore? Man… I’m way behind.
I hope the move went well–no update??
