“Sweet & Simple” Honey Kix Cereal Prize Package Giveaway

by Kristen McLane on February 22, 2009

New Honey Kix Cereal (Giveaway Package) It’s been a long standing joke in our household that for as long as Paul could speak, his first words in the morning have been, “What can I eat?” Naturally, we stock up on breakfast cereal and instant oatmeal to satisfy his insatiable appetite. Cereal is not just breakfast in our house. It’s also been known to be lunch, snacks and dinner. Because of that, I’m thankful that my kids don’t turn their noses up at healthy cereals. Sure, those chocolate and marshmallow cereals do sneak into our shopping cart. But so do whole grain “good for you” cereals.

This past week I had the opportunity to try Generals Mill’s new cereal, Honey Kix. Honey Kix adds just the right amount of honey sweetness to it’s already wholesome corn puff cereal. The proof of it’s goodness is in the now empty cereal box sitting on my counter. This is what General Mills has to say about new Honey Kix: Honey Kix is a good source of fiber, calcium and vitamin D, contains 16 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily) and has no artificial flavors or preservatives.

To celebrate the introduction of Honey Kix, General Mills also sent us a cute “Sweet & Simple” Honey Kix prize package. My package included a sample of Honey Kix, a honey jar, a set of cereal bowls, an “on-the-go” milk and cereal container, and a cereal dispenser (see photo). Three of you will also receive a prize package (your prize package will include a coupon for a free box of Honey Kix). To enter my “Sweet & Simple” giveaway, leave a breakfast related comment on this post. The giveaway will end at 5pm on Sunday, March 1st. Winners will be notified via email.

Hello… My name is Leslie… and I am a cerealaholic! Ok I said it!
hahah
I adore cereal…. I am not picky.. I love any kind.. from the healthiest (kinda prefer them) to the junkiest of junk! As a kid I begged my mom for a certain cereal with a “Captain” on it and my mom REFUSED, saying it would ROT my teeth! To this day I have not tasted it.. I am too afraid of being a ruthless toothless cerealaholic!
So that’s my Breakfast commentary…. my breakfast life in a nutshell! hahah

We mix cereals together in one bowl our house! We love cereal for snacks, too — dry — not just w/ milk in the morning.

Thanks for the chance to win! I am excited about all of the whole grains!

Our kids love cereal…they would eat it all day if we let them. Being a family of honey producers, we tend to buy the “unsweetened” kind & and our own bit of honey, but these sound really yummy. My kids love Kix. They used to think it would give them a more powerful soccer kick & we weren’t going to dispute that theory. :)

I’m a big fan of cereal. In my single days, I used to eat it for dinner sometimes.

And I just happened to have Kix this morning, so I’m curious what the honey kind is like!

We eat cereal every morning. We buy all types so we don’t get bored. On weekends we get a liitle crazy and have eggs but that’s because we have the time for a bigger burger.

My 2 1/2 year old would eat cereal at every meal if I would let her. I’ve stopped asking what she wants for lunch or dinner because the answer is always “cereal?” and when I say no she throws a small fit. She loves the honey nut cheerios so honey kix might be right up her alley.

I’ve always been a big fan of breakfast! I could eat cereal all day long and my kids absolutely love pancakes! I think this new cereal looks really good–I always added a little sugar to my Kix, so I think this will be just about perfect with the sweetness of the honey. Thanks for the giveaway!

I could eat cereal all day long as long as they are delicious. My daughter, on the other hand, refuses to eat cereal any other time than breakfast. The hubby, well let’s just say that he needs his eggs and bacon, considering that he eats breakfast only on the weekends. Thanks for the giveaway.
