I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD,
make me dwell in safety.Psalm 4:8
This week a friend in my community group gave me the sweetest gift. She remembered me saying that I don’t sleep well when Adam is out of town. I avoid going to bed until it is absolutely necessary (nodding off at the computer and stumbling to bed with blurry vision is generally a good indication). She knew that Adam would be leaving this morning for his third and final 2008 National Youth Workers Convention and that the kids and I would be on our own for the next five days.
The gift included a CD of relaxing sleepy time music, a packet of “spa nightly foot repair”, a container of nail polish in a bold shimmery deep shade of red, a variety of soothing herbal teas, an evening prayer, and a bottle of calming Caswell-Massey English Lavender Linen Water.
I am looking forward to bedtime!

What a wonderful gift!!
It was so thoughtful and unexpected…I wish I’d thought of it! Unfortunately old habits die hard and I can’t say that I went to bed on time every night when I should have. But when I did go to bed I “slept like a baby”.
What a thoughtful friend you have! Sweet Dreams!
