Please welcome my daughter Megan Elisabeth McLane (7 years old) to my blog. She wrote this post all by herself with the exception of needing help on spelling a few words. She is an excellent reader and I happen to think that she is good writer as well. And oh yeah, I told her I would give her a dollar if she would write something for me.
I love school. But I hate math! I just like reading. I am the best reader in my whole class! At my old school the reading levels were higher. Here they are much lower. I’m in 2nd grade and I can read a 3rd grade book! At school there are groups. The people with the highest reading levels are the leaders. My group has two people in it! But today there is no school! I wish we had school today. But we don’t. I always read in bed. To bad for me, we have library on Tuesday. But today is TUESDAY! I can’t wait till next Tuesday. But that’s to long for me to wait. We are working on money now. Everyone learned the names and value of the coins in 1st grade. I learned it in kindergarten. I am learning stuff that I learned in 1st grade! There is a boy named Jacob who likes me! I go to jump rope. Jacob’s mom made him go to jump rope because he can’t jump rope. When it was time to go home Jacob asked the teacher how long it’s been. He saids it’s been a hour. Then he went crazy!

Dear Megan,
Boys are crazy! Some of my boy friends go crazy sometimes too, and I don’t know what to do with them!
It’s a bummer that you had to miss library today. I love going to the library, too! Last Friday, I checked out five books from the library. Two of them are boring, but I have to read them for school. The other ones are really interesting, though!
I bet you’re probably pretty good at math, even if you don’t like it. I’m glad that you are doing a good job in school, though! I always liked to read when I was in 2nd grade, too, and would sometimes get in trouble because I would read when the teacher was talking!
Yours truly,
Andrea
Megan - do you have a public library near by? Maybe you can go a get some books so you don’t have to wait for so long. When my kids were young and they were learning about money, I would take them to the store to shop. I would give them a small grocery list and some money and a calculator. They would have to add up how much the groceries were and make sure they had enough money. Then they had to figure how much money they needed to give to the cashier. Sometimes I would even give them coupons to make it a little harder. They all enjoyed doing that. I’m glad you are enjoying school so much. I miss you.

Megan! Your blog post is awesome. I am jealous that you have not told a story on daddy’s website yet. If I pay you a dollar will you write me a story too?
It is so cool that you like to lay in bed and read books. That reminds me so much of mommy, she does the same thing.
See you soon,
Daddy
THAT is too cute.
Hi Megan!
What a great job you did writing in your mom’s blog! Wow.. good for you! You made everything sound so interesting. I’m so happy you love to read. I bet you’re good at math even tho it’s not your favorite subject. Keep blogging!
See you for Turkey Day! I love you!

Wow Megan, what a great post! Maybe I can get my son Adam to post someday as well. But he hates to write. Something about being a crazy boy. I don’t think he can jump rope either!
Angela.
Great post, Megan. I will have to see if Gracie will post on my blog someday - she’s your age, but she’s kind of shy. I bet you girls would be great friends. She thinks boys are crazy too.
