I’d be surprised if anyone noticed that it’s been a week since I’ve posted (unless you count the freaky grilled cheese jack-o-lantern picture which I pulled out of the archives…I needed to post something!). The reason that I haven’t had time to blog is that I got myself a j-o-b. That’s right. I’ve officially been pulled out of retirement. The last time I had a real (paying) job was when Megan was one years old. With Megan (7) and Paul (5) both in school it was the right time to go back to work. Well, that and the motivational factor of owning a house in Michigan and paying rent in San Diego.
Through circumstances beyond my control (ie. God), I was offered a great job at an awesome company called Calorie King (stay tuned for a giveaway). The entire family is cheering me on in my new endeavor. It might have something to do with telling the kids that we would get “real” cable once mommy had a job. I’m really proud of them for “surviving” three months without Hannah Montana and Ben 10. In all seriousness the transition has been fairly smooth. I needed a new challenge (a girl can only sit aimlessly in front of a computer screen for so many hours). The most negative consequence is that I am suffering from daytime twitter withdrawal syndrome (#dtws). Paul was the most apprehensive about my returning to work. The funny thing is that my work hours don’t effect the kids at all since I leave for work after walking Megan and Paul to school and I’m back in time to pick them up in the afternoon.
