Saturday morning we all woke up early to walk their walk. (Shh, don’t tell anyone that we bailed at the half-way point.) The kids walked six miles without much complaint. If nothing else we helped raise money for a good cause and taught the kids a lesson in global perspective.
Saturday night was date night. (Thank you, Notre Dame Football for putting Adam in a good mood.) The kids were happy to be left alone with a babysitter for the first time since we have moved. Too much family togetherness? Dinner was a toss up between Thai and African. We decided to save the latter for our next evening out and headed off to Amarin for a delicious Thai meal. Cozy restaurant, great food, friendly staff. If only my stomach felt better this morning.
After dinner we innocently strolled into the local Apple Store and somehow I walked out with this little beauty. Don’t feel bad for Adam. He made me do it. (My theory is that the more nerdy I become, the more attractive I am to my Apple-addicted husband. Does that make me an enabler?)
This morning the family headed off to Harbor. We think this is the one. We signed up to join a small group and tomorrow night I’m attending a meeting about a babysitting co-op beginning soon (what’s a co-op…see here). This video was shown in church last week to communicate the vision of Harbor in the Mid-City neighborhood of San Diego.
After church we came for lunch before heading out again to experience the New Children’s Museum. A good time was had by everyone except for Adam – who wanted to be at the beach instead.
