Mother/Daughter SkirtSports Giveaway (Running Skirts)

I have great news for all you girls who love to run. You can feel good AND look good while you run. SkirtSports is the company responsible for bringing femininity to the sport of running through the creation of the original fitness skirt in 2005. I’m not sure where I’ve been hiding because I didn’t know running skirts existed until last year when my mom showed me hers. Since then my interest has piqued. It is no wonder that SkirtSports is turning heads in the fitness community. These fabulous fitness skirts are the brainchild of triathlete champion Nicole DeBoom. The fact that they are created “by women and for women” is evident in the design details.

Ready for more great news? SkirtSports is giving one “mother/daughter” team a Skirt of her very own. Mom (or grandma, aunt, big sister, mentor…) will receive the GymGirl Classic and daughter (or granddaughter, niece, little sister, mentoree…) will receive a Girl Skirt (sizes 2T to girls size 8).

Skirts come in many styles. Some are sport specific (thriathlon, cycling, tennis, golf) and others are for the more casual athlete. The GymGirl Classic is the best selling and most versatile Skirt. It’s design includes built-in shorts (long legged) and pockets on the side of each leg. The pockets even have buttonholes for threading your headphone cord.

Both the GymGirl Classic and the Girl Skirt are made with lightweight performance fabric. The Girl Skirt has a built-in spankie and a drawstring elastic waistband for the right fit on those little waists.

In addition to the giveaway SkirtSports is offering 10% off any on-line purchases made at www.skirtsports.com. Use the discount code: KRISTENM. (Offer expires 8/31/08)

Win It! To enter the “mother/daughter” Skirt giveaway simply leave a comment telling me one of two things: (1) who you are entering for or (2) your favorite Skirt or Skirt feature. The giveaway will end at 5p.m. on Sunday, August 31st. I will notify the winner via email.

One thing is certain…empowered girls should look as good as they feel! Speaking of empowered girls, don’t forget to enter my other giveaway for the book We Are Girls Who Love to Run by Brianna Grant.

I would like to win these for my daughter and myself. They are adorable, functional and feminine. Thank you.

I would love to win these for myself and my 3-year old daughter. It would help motivate me back into the gym and we are trying to encourage her to enjoy an active lifestyle. If I ran in a skirt she’d want to run or jog in hers.

I really like the 2 pockets in the GymGirl skirt because I need one for my iPod playing inspirational music to keep me going and the other for the key to get back into the house and collapse in my bed.

I like the lightweight fabric. Makes running so much easier.

I never knew these existed, either; wow! I am entering for myself and my daughter (who turns six today). I love that these allow for the easy movement required for exercise or sports, while being feminine, too. :)

I am entering this contest for my daughter. She is 4 years old and if you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up she says “A really fast runner!” She practices running like most kids practice drawing or shooting baskets. This little girl is all run and no walk, plus she is all skirts. She is usally running in her pink see-thru tutu! I would love to be able to give her a skirt just for “running!” She seriously would be tickled pink. I can’t wait to see if we win this, watch out 2020 Olympics her we come!

I just read the article in Runner’s World about the running skirt. I love it because you can look cute in public before and after a run!
Thanks,

One for my daugter and one for a friend. Thanks!

I like the uptown girl for it’s longer length. I like it because it is a longer athletic skirt; companies seem to not realize that some of us consider our legs personal property and not for public display. I would like the adult one for me, and the little one for my little niece.

16 Ariana August 1, 2008 at 5:10 pm

I would love one of these. I think skirts are just so much nicer to wear than shorts, love this feminine option. I am entering for myself and my daughter.

17 Crystal August 1, 2008 at 9:25 pm

I would love to win this!!! I just had my 2nd child 9wks ago and I am getting back in to working out and all the shorts I have just ride on up……I am so much more comfortable in skirts!! So a working out skirt would be awesome!!!!!!!!!

19 C Duran August 2, 2008 at 12:59 am

I am entering for me and my niece. I love the handy pockets! Thanks for the giveaway!

20 Briana August 2, 2008 at 1:20 am

My daughter – love the elastic waistband

21 Melon August 2, 2008 at 8:39 am

I like these because they will eleminate that unsightly bunching I get with shorts. Since my thighs now meet in the middle, they push my shorts up, not attractive. So, not attractive.

I am entering for me and my daughter!! How fun! What a wonderful giveaway!! Thanks for the chance to win!

What a great giveaway.

I would like to enter me and my daughter. She loves to wear whatever I am wearing, so matching skirts would be so much fun for her.

26 Meghan August 3, 2008 at 11:45 am

I like the shorts under the skirt. Too short skirts make me feel exposed.

27 Audra Marie August 3, 2008 at 11:53 am

I’m hoping to win this for my daughter and I. Very nice giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win! :)

28 Maureen August 3, 2008 at 11:56 am

My Mom decided to start running last year. Her goal was to run a half marathon by her 65th birthday. I am so proud of her…together we ran the Disney Half and the ING Half!! We are planning to run two more in 2009. She is so confident and proud about her body now that it is time to get her in a cute little running skirt. There is nothing better than feeling like you have a great outfit on while you run. I would love to wear matching skirts in our next Half Marathon :)

These would be for me and my niece!

37 loki August 5, 2008 at 4:58 pm

I would like to enter for me and my daughter. I’ve never had any workout skirts! These are pretty and stylish too, and I like the built in spankie! I like that it doesn’t show too much, but then I don’t want to suffer esp in the heat and wear sweats!

38 Judy J. August 5, 2008 at 6:24 pm

Little did I realize when I joined the YMCA with my family to lose weight that it would lead my daughter to love exercise so much that she is now a triathlete. Perhaps if I wore one of these workout skirts, I would get the courage to try a tri-athlon. Thanks for the chance to win!

39 Rebecca C August 31, 2008 at 1:48 am

I like the adjustable waist, that would really help with my daughter’s normally too small waist for her size. I am entering for my daughter and me.
