I’ve talked about wanting the Wii Fit for so long and I’ve finally got it! My husband will tell you that I was giddy with excitement when I got my hands on one. And let me tell you that getting my hands on one was no easy feat. Adam had thought that he had pre-ordered the Wii Fit through Amazon but he must have been wrong because we were waiting and waiting and waiting. I finally took matters into my own hands and conducted my own search. The Wii Fit is hard to come by unless you pre-order. Last Monday after calling around I was assured by our local Kmart that a shipment of Wii Fit would be arriving on Friday. Monday through Friday felt like an eternity. Friday afternoon rolled around and I called Kmart. Yes, they had just received a small shipment (four to be exact). But they couldn’t hold it. I booked it to Kmart and made sure that I got my hands on one. Then I called a friend who was also on a Wii Fit expedition and she bought one too.
The verdict? We love the Wii Fit! I knew that I would like it but I wasn’t expecting that my seven year old daughter would be addicted. Megan is a Wii Fit hog! Her favorite activity is hula hooping. She also loves to run and she is the only one in the family who has successfully crossed the tightrope. In addition Megan prides herself in overcoming my scores. Paul likes the Wii Fit too (when his sister gives him a turn). Ironically, I’ve been on my mothers day/birthday present the least.
I am the saver in the family but if you have a Wii I wholeheartedly recommend purchasing the Wii Fit. Yes, it’s a little pricey (around $90) but it is more than just a video game. The technology is amazing and the activities are challenging. Since the goal of the Wii Fit is to achieve balance (building core strength), completing an exercise isn’t as important as completing it correctly. It seems like there is always room for improvement. I’m not under the illusion that the Wii Fit replaces the need for other exercise (I’m not going to stop running) but I think it’s a fun way to supplement the workout routine. I’m not worried that my kids are spending too much time indoors playing the Wii Fit. Summertime is Michigan can be hot and muggy. The Wii Fit is a great indoor alternative.
That’s enough Wii Fit love for one day.

Cough cough. I’ve yet to try it. I think that means I’ve used it less.
You don’t count. You’re in San Diego.
I’ve been considering this. Thanks for the info. I spend so much time sitting in a chair writing, maybe thisi will get me moving!
OK, you’ve convinced me, I gotta get this!
Oooh – good review! I saw the commercials, and I was wondering how it was. I might have to check it out.
I’m excited for you. My favorite games so far are the ski jump and slalom and the bubble race on the river. We’ll have to compare notes on Sunday
Oh and btw I found that getting up really early or staying up really late is the only time I get a chance with my 4 kids wanting to be 1st on all challenges. Good luck!
To all those with kids, you may want to hide this from them so that you actually get a turn!
