Ten Favorite Films

by Kristen McLane on May 17, 2008

I’ve been tagged by Adam to list my top ten favorite movies. Here it goes. In no particular order:

  1. Pride & Prejudice – Some swear by the BBC version but I love the chemistry between the characters played by Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Bennet) and Matthew Macfadyen (Mr. Darcy).
  2. Little Miss Sunshine – I’ve never cried so hard (from laughing).
  3. Juno – So many great moments.
  4. Chocolat – Not sure if it’s the movie or the memory. I have fond memories of seeing this chick flick back in the day when I lived in Chicago. I had a gift card to the theater and my friend and I spared no expense pigging out on junk food on our girl’s day out.
  5. The Bourne Trilogy – I can’t resist a good action film.
  6. An Affair to Remember and/or Sleepless in Seattle
  7. Sabrina (original)
  8. Once – Not the greatest movie of all time but I love the story behind the making of this film. The songs are hard to get out of your head. Adam says that I’m a sucker for indie films.
  9. E.T. – I know this probably makes me a dork but this was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theater.
  10. Hotel Rwanda – Not the best choice for a date night but a “must see” movie. Unforgettable.

Bonus: Top 3 favorite films that every little girl should see…

  1. Anne of Green Gables
  2. A Little Princess
  3. The Secret Garden

Okay…ET is probably the scariest movie…EVER.
A Little Princess is adorable, though.
I read the Anne of Green Gables & The Secret Garden, but never saw the movies.

I *love* the Bourne trilogy. Action/suspense is probably my favorite genre, especially if there’s a little bit of romance and mystery “in the mix.”

Hotel Rwanda was excellent, powerful, moving…it made my cry.

I need to see Juno. Everyone keeps talking about that one…
