Sometimes I Miss The Obvious

Here is a funny story about myself. On Wednesday I was delivering a meal to a couple from church who recently had a baby. They are new to the church so I’d never been to their house. In fact I’d never been to their town before and it was a bit of a drive for me.

The directions were straightforward but their house was located on a busy country road. The speed limit was 55 and I couldn’t slow down to read house numbers because there were cars behind me. I ended up going to the wrong house first. One of the numbers was scratched off the mailbox so I thought I had a match but it ended up being a nice elderly woman who was very understanding about my mistake. I got back in the car and ended up turning around two more times. I knew I was close but both times I went too far in each direction.

I finally found the right mailbox. As I pulled into the driveway I looked up and saw a huge “It’s A Boy” sign in the front yard. Duh. I would have saved myself a lot of time if I’d just looked up!
