Gullible

It’s April 1st…

At 7:30 this morning my friend Gretchen called to give me the heads up that school was closed today. She said there had been a gas leak in the building. Hmm, it sounded plausible. Never mind that the school uses a reliable alert system which has never failed to call my cell phone and send an e-mail message in the event of a school closing. I was only mildly suspicious when Gretchen told me that she found out from another mutual friend. (How did that person find out?) Like I said, I’m gullible.

Gretchen must have felt sorry for me because she let me in on the joke…Happy April Fool’s Day! I don’t know whether to be flattered that I was pranked or mad for being chosen as such an easy target. Since I like Gretchen, I’ll choose to be flattered! The mutual friend…she was the mastermind of the prank. My only comfort is that Gretchen fell for it too before calling me.

Were you pranked today? Did you prank someone? Hear of any good pranks?

No pranks around here…just a typical day for us.

I’m not into the whole April Fool’s thing, but my sister pranked my mom good with a pregnancy. I didn’t go along though… I saw the stack of tampons in her garbage. Darn. :)
