Aiiiieee! I hated having my wash/dryer in the basement in previous house, but now it's on the second floor...wouldn't want to clean up after that!

Good luck!

Our house is built on a cement slab, as most Oklahoma homes are, so there are no basements to flood. There are only husbands who run water over their moldy tupperware lunch dishes & walk away...until the kitchen is inundated. That was quite the family affair - mopping up w/ towels & wringing them outside. Thankfully, we have four kids! :)

We had lot's of plumbing problems with our washing machine drain line. It kept backing up for as long as I can remember. Luckily our laundry room had a window right over the washing machine...so...we would just hang the hose out the window. Then one day our washing machine went capooey and we invested in front loaders, since they use so much less water....Plumbing problems solved! I just thought that I would share our story.

I give Adam credit for hearing the sound of rushing water. I was obliviously typing away at the computer. It would have been worse if the water had sat overnight! Now I have to make the house look nice and smell pretty for small group tonight. What a crazy week!

We've had it happen in our first floor laundry room (more than once!) It's amazing the amount of water that can come from one washing machine load. Hope all is better now.

Yikes! At least it was in the basement. My mom had a hose disconnect in her first floor laundry room. That was a mess!

Hope it wasn't too bad.

Thanks for stopping by and suggesting that site. Happy Friday!
