The Disaster That Is Our Plumbing

112.jpgWe have plumbing issues. Serious issues. For the past couple weeks we have had water backing up into the basement. I’m talking mopping up buckets of water after every load of laundry. My temporary solution was to avoid laundry. But when water started backing up after washing dishes and using the downstairs bathroom, Adam and I called the plumber. We have had plumbing problems off and on in the same spot during the three years that we have lived in this house. It has always been the same problem to varying degrees and we have always attributed it to a clog.

Our plumber friend decided to dig around and find the source of the problem. As you can see, our new PVC piping doesn’t connect with the old clay piping. The clay piping has literally disintegrated and water has been collecting under the house instead of moving down the drain. Bad.

It is now day three of our plumbing ordeal. In the meantime no laundry, no dishes and no downstairs sink or toilet. Thankfully we have a second bathroom on the second floor that uses separate plumbing.

Oh boy, that looks and sounds like a big project. Hope all goes well and you are able to do dishes and laundry soon (I am smiling as I write that, because I don’t usually wish that on anyone!)

Kristen you can bring your laundry over here if you want. As long as you don’t mind my messy house from painting my bedroom. You can even use my dishwasher if you want.

Oh no! I bet that’s a pain… Hopefully, you guys can get it easily and ‘quickly’ fixed.

Ugh! I never thought that a parsonage was an ideal situation (having lived in one my whole life!). But now that I have had the experience of owning my own home and with the anticipation of moving into a parsonage in two months, I have to say a parsonage really is ideal!!!
There is no ideal time for plumbing to be an issue! Hope it gets resolved VERY quickly!
