Easter has taken me by surprise this year. The new dusting of snow we received last night doesn’t help. Still, I’m grateful for this time of the year to remember the God’s sacrifice on the cross. This Sunday will be even more special for our family because Megan has decided to be baptized. I can think of no better way to illustrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ than through baptism (going under the water symbolizes Christ’s death and coming out of the water symbolizes Christ’s resurrection).
This past month the focus at church has been to bring God to our city. For us, it’s not about increasing our church attendance (although we would have no problem with that). It’s about looking at our community through God’s eyes, recognizing the need for everyone to have a personal relationship with God and doing something about it. It gives me goosebumps to think about the difference that changed hearts would make in our community. Our Good Friday service last night was especially powerful as the congregation worshiped together and prayed for God to transform the hearts of Romeo, MI.

I think Easter snuck up on most of us!
Sounds like your church has had a very inspiring focus.
Happy Easter.
Wow…what a memorable Easter to have Megan be baptized. I know how much it meant for both our girls to come to a place where they wanted to accept Christ as their Savior, and I know that baptism will follow soon. But it had to make it especially meaningful this year…
Congrats on your daughter being baptized. Happy Resurrection day!!
