Lullabies are often the first stories that our children are exposed to as infants. As our children grow into toddlers and preschoolers they graduate to nursery rhymes complete with finger plays and body motions. As parents we love the familiarity of the tunes that we grew up with but we don’t always remember the important things…like the words! Maybe like me you’ve muddled through a tune of Frère Jacques making up your own French words along the way. Or perhaps your inquisitive mind has always pondered the definition of a tuffet.

What fun! My girls love singing! We often sing “Alice the Camel” because of the bouncy nature of it…but my girls absolute favorites are “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”!

Hush Little Baby…. Mama’s going to show you a hummingbird, it is a great adaptation to the material oriented tradtional version. I love it and I actually memorized it and it is also the only lullabye I know from beginning to end.
My 2 year old daughter just discovered “Itsy Bitsy Spider”, and it’s so cute to watch her try to make her fingers do the spider going up the waterspout! This sounds like a great book to help me remember more nursery rhymes.
My son is only 7 months so I’m just starting to try to remember all of these!

I always loved ‘the itsy bitsy spider’. The hand movements that go along with it make it even more fun!

This is a very nice giveaway. My favorite lullaby is All the Pretty Horses. This book looks like it would be a lot of fun.

How fun! We love Baa Baa Black Sheep ’round my house. When my Gracie was little, she would say “Bob Bob Black Sheep”. Still laughing!

Hmmm – well, it’s not MY favorite per se, but my daughter and I sing Patty Cake ALL THE TIME. It’s driving me a little batty, but she loves it, so….

We always sing the “Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, Baker’s man…” one. The kids like making the hand motions while we sing.
We love “You Are My Sunshine”. My heart melts to hear my daughter’s sweet voice sing it.

It’s a sign of how much I NEED THIS BOOK that I cannot think of a single nursery rhyme. Does “This little piggy went to market” count? That always gets a giggle out of my son.
Baa Baa Black Sheep!
Our favorite lullaby is the old Jefferson Airplane song, “the baby tree.” My 7 month old son loves it. He also really likes this little piggy. I had to go online to find lyrics, though, so I could really use this book!

The book looks great. Now I just need one for clueless moms in general. My favorite nursey rhyme is Jack and Jill. The love the ole time medicine treatment it contains.
Our favorite lullabye to sing together is Twinkle Twinkle Litle Star. Its the one she can sing all the words to.
I like “All the Pretty Little Horses”, “Schlaf, Kindlein, Schlaf (Sleep, Little One, Sleep)” and “Winken, Blinken, and Nod”.
As a child, my favorite was “Peter, Peter, Pumkin Eater…” I think I liked the sound of all those hard P’s. Now, I love to sing to my 3-month-old daughter “All the Pretty Little Horses” and “You Are My Sunshine”.
I love to sing to my little guys, but I wish i knew more than ” You are my sunshine”. I often end up making up my own songs.

Twinkle twinkle little star and The wheels on the bus calm my little boy for a moment.
I have to say my favorites are you are my sunshine and the wheels on the bus, sweet and fun.
My favorite is twinkle twinkle. Interestingly my son doesn’t like Humpty Dumpty- He gets sad when Humpty has the great fall.
Jack Sprat was a favorite when I was little.
My favorite is the mockingbird song, but I can never remember the words after about three lines, so I just keep singing those over and over. I need this book before my daughter figures out what I’m saying.
