Interpreting a 4 Year Old’s Cries

I woke up this morning to a quiet tap on my shoulder.

Megan: Paul is crying. (I knew this but I was doing my best to ignore my son. I check my alarm clock and realize that it is almost 7:00 a.m. Time to get up.)

Me: Did Paul fall out of bed?

Megan: No

Me: Did you do something to him?

Megan: No

Megan: I think he is just doing the mommy attention thing. (Yup.)

I can empathize- I woke up to a 4 year olds cries today, too! She was upset because Ethan got up and closed the door to their room. Hmmm!

Daniel is back to climbing in our bed again. He climbs in about 30 minutes before the alarm goes off & it takes him @ least 10 min. to get comfortable between the two of us & by that time…I’m up! 6am is way too early to be waking up. I want my 30 minutes of sleep back.

Isn’t it funny how they are able to pick up on the little things? Our two climb into our bed. I keep taking them back, but they sneak back in and I usually lose the small battle. Most of the time, I’m too sleepy to notice!
