WFMW: Use Goo Gone to Remove Crayon Wax from Laundry

wfmwbluebanner.jpg

It’s Wednesday which can only mean one thing – Works For Me Wednesday (WFMW) hosted by Rocks In My Dryer. My tip is how to remove crayon wax from laundry.

gg3.gifConsider yourself fortunate if you are a parent and you have never opened the dryer and discovered that your freshly laundered clothes are stained from melted crayon wax. I speak from experience. Red crayon wax was all over my dryer drum and embedded in my clothing. The situation looked bleak but I was sure that the internet would offer a solution. I googled crayon in the dryer and found many suggestions. The solution that worked for me was Goo Gone. As strange as it sounded, I reasoned that the clothes couldn’t get any worse than they already were. I cautiously applied Goo Gone to the stains and put the treated clothing back into the washing machine. To my amazement it worked to remove the stains! I also used Goo Gone to remove crayon from the dryer drum.

Goo Gone rocks. I’ve been there. I think I used it on lipstick.

I thought this was a great tip, so I linked to your page about this on my stain removal site. Here is the link:

Hey thank you I did not have any goo gone but I got it out with a mixture carpet cleaner a little bleach and a .69 cent bottle of peroxide clean as ever

Trying it out now. Worked on the dryer. Meanwhile, added it and you to my Pinterest for others…and in case we need your advice again. Thank you for sharing.
