Two Valentine Craft Ideas

by Kristen McLane on February 12, 2008

Today I’m doing a trial run for some of the crafts that we will be doing at Megan’s 1st grade Valentine’s party on Thursday.

1. Messenger of Love Dove or Love Bird

Fold a piece of construction paper in half length-wise. Trace and cut out a bird shape. Fold down the wings and you’ve got a bird. Decorate and write messages of love on the the wings. Another cute idea would be to pull a string through the bird and hang these up in a classroom or bedroom. This craft is from Heart & Crafts by Sheri Brownrigg.

2. Ribbon Bracelets

This is a great craft idea that I’ve been wanting to try ever since I first saw it in Family Fun Magazine. The project is so simple and yet produces great results. These bracelets can be made all year long and are not just for Valentine’s Day. All you need is ribbon and velcro (self-adhesive). We will have a few “masculine” ribbons available for the boys who think that hearts are too girly.

Determine the length of your ribbon. Apply velcro to the edge of the ribbon. (One piece of velcro will be on the printed side of the bracelet and the other piece of velcro will be on the opposite backside of the bracelet.)

Hello. I just wanted to check to make sure you received your Valentine’s package and see how you liked it. The picture above looks like the ribbon that I included, so I thought I’d stop by and ask!

Thanks,
Corrin

Yes, that is the ribbon you sent us. Thanks!
