Is it too late for a reflective post? I hope not. I know I’m supposed to be making goals for 2008 but it would be remiss of me if I didn’t write one last post about 2007.
Gone are the days when Adam and I would hop into the car and drive aimlessly for hours until we reached our “unknown” destination. We were young, newly married, childless and living in Chicago. Fast-forward ten years and two children later. Our travel adventures few and far between. That is until May when Adam and I escaped to Northern Ireland to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary. We drove aimlessly through the Irish countryside, experienced new adventures, detoured off the beaten path and visited friends. As if one memorable trip wasn’t enough, our travels continued in October when we experienced a new kind of adventure with friends aboard the Pacific Catalyst – vacationing by boat in the San Juan Islands of the Pacific Northwest. Two vacations to two beautiful places. Unforgettable memories.

How long were you in Ireland? I’ve always wanted to visit there. But if we ever leave the country, it will be to visit Brazil one last time.
We spent 10 days in Northern Ireland. Adam had gone there two years earlier on a missions trip with the youth group and promised that we would return for our 10 year anniversary. The following summer one of the NI guys from his team lived with us for a summer and interned at our church. So we spent half the time on our own and half the time seeing our friend.
The trip in October was like an gift. The owners of the boat have worked in youth ministry themselves and sometimes offer their boat for ministry uses.
