It Turns Out Stoney Likes Bananas

by Kristen McLane on December 28, 2007

sm_banana.jpg This morning I peeled a banana for my daughter. It had brown spots and I knew she wouldn’t want to eat it but I didn’t want to throw it away either. So that got me wondering “can dogs eat bananas?” I did what anyone with a computer in their kitchen would do and I googled it. Turns out from multiple sources that dogs can eat bananas (and some other fruits and vegetables are okay too – in moderation). But don’t feed your dog grapes or raisins.

Time for the taste test. Stoney is not exactly a discriminating dog so I wasn’t too worried about this part. He already steals and eats our apples. The verdict: Stoney likes bananas! The kids were tickled at the thought. From now on Stoney gets the spotty bananas.

(Disclaimer: I am not a vet. Check with your vet before feeding your dog bananas.)
