I’ve been back a few hours now from the church staff retreat. The kids were in a great mood when we picked them up from the Brinker’s house. Apparently they enjoyed themselves. I know because when I called yesterday afternoon to check in neither child wanted to talk to me. Sigh. They were completely spoiled, as usual. The Brinkers took them to the local theater to watch the movie, Fred Clause. And they got to pick out their own treats. When it comes to movie treats my kids bypass the popcorn and go straight for the candy. Chocolate for Megan and gummy candy for Paul. Not only that but the kids were also taken to their favorite spot in town – the local library. It’s one of the few places where I always say “yes” (as in, “yes you may check out a dvd and/or books”… I love free things!). So thank you once again Brinker family for taking wonderful care of my family.
(P.S. As I am typing this my dog is making the most unpleasant odors seep out from his rear end. Dog farts are the worst!)
