This year I am helping to plan Megan’s class parties. The first was the halloween party. The kid’s start out with a costume parade. They get to walk through all the classrooms to show off their costumes and then they parade through the gymnasium for parents to see. It was a half day so we had to fit all our party activities into about an hour. We had four "centers"…BINGO, food and two craft tables. We did the following crafts: (1) Origami bats (http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11850) and (2) Handprint Spiders (http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/handprint_spider_craft.htm). Both activities turned out well however the kids did need a lot of help with the origami bats. It was more of a one on one activity for the age group (first graders). Thankfully we had enough parents helping to pull it off. Megan made the ones in the picture.
