The kids are ready for Halloween

Halloween is one week from today.  My kids start thinking about the next holiday the minute the last one ends.  It would be no exaggeration to say that since the 4th of July Megan has told me that she wanted to be a fairy for halloween.  No surprise there - last year she was a princess.  Enter in Power Rangers.  Paul is of the age that he recently discovered the Power Rangers.  It began innocently enough when we were watching a five year old boy in our house this past summer.  This five year old boy would often ask Paul to play "power rangers" with him.  I don’t think that Paul even knew of Power Rangers but Paul loves anything having to do with super heros and willing played along.  It didn’t take long for Paul to become hooked on Power Rangers.  He even threw in a few Power Ranger moves while playing soccer this fall.  So it wasn’t a big surprise when Paul decided he would be a Power Ranger for halloween.  Paul’s biggest decision was whether he would be the blue, red or black ranger.  He ended up choosing the black ranger costume.  The big shock however came when Megan changed her mind from being a fairy to choosing to be the pink ranger for halloween.  We bought our costumes yesterday.  Megan’s was the only pink ranger costume left in the store and happily it was her size.  The kids spend the remaining part of the evening dressed in costume and saving the world from bad guys (aka. daddy).Power_rangers_029 Power_rangers_040 Power_rangers_020_2
