By Invitation Only
I’m not sure when the initial incident took place but last night as I was tucking Megan into bed and getting ready to leave the room, she held me back for a moment to confide in me that she had not received an invitation in her mailbox at school. I had to probe a bit but what I found out was that Megan was not invited to the birthday party of one of her classmates. There were no boys were invited and most, but not all, of the girls were invited. I felt badly for Megan. She was dissapointed and felt left out and she has no idea why she wasn’t invited. She is not mad, just sad. As a mom, I know that this is just one of many dissapointments that Megan will face. It is still hard.
